Homeschooling, like much in life, is very challenging. One of the biggest challenges for me is comparison. I am really good at being willing to meet my kids where they are until I am face to face with another mom or student who is doing something that seems so much better, polished, more challenging, more studious than what I am doing with my own child.
“Pay careful attention to your own work, for then you will get the satisfaction of a job well done, and you won’t need to compare yourself to anyone else. ~ Galatians 6:4

I know these things… I memorized the Galatians verse many many years ago, but I fall flat on my face & wallow in my imperfection and (what I think are) my children’s imperfections.
The truth is this ~ The Lord has plans for us, myself and my children and you. He will scoop us up, right from our pit of melting pride, and set us upright and back on the path. His path.
For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord. Jeremiah 29:11a
I know that is the truth, but some days I am caught off guard by words or actions and caught in what I am feeling instead of what I know.
